In January 2012 I was blessed to have the opportunity to participate in the Zealous 8:2 tour of Israel run by Bridges for Peace.
This tour was something that I had been looking forward to for a long time and it certainly did not disappoint me. Led by our amazing tour leader Peter Fast and tour guide Tom Brimmer, our group had the chance to explore Israel and many of its holy sites in an in-depth, personal, and Bible-led manner. It was really encouraging to be able to share this experience with an intimate group of young Christians from all over the globe as we all had a thirst for God’s word and guidance.
Having the opportunity to sit on the shore of the Sea of Galilee… Read more »

When I left Darwin in Australia to join the Zealous 8:2 tour in Israel the only thing I had hoped to gain from the experience was a greater understanding of the Word of God, by being able to personally identify with the places named in the Bible and to be able to more fully grasp the type of place where Jesus and so much of the Bible is based.
The best decision though at the start of the Zealous tour was that I was going to be open to the leading of the Lord. I think that it is one of the best decisions that I could have made, because the Lord takes great delight in working with people who open themselves up to His will and make… Read more »

Translation of newspaper story
This week visitors passing through the WIZO center on Pazner Street in Pizgat Zeev felt that something was going on there.
Boys and girls went around the place, cleaning and painting with diligence and smiles.
We did precise checking into what’s going on there at WIZO for those few days… We found that the international organization of Christians that love Israel, “Bridges for Peace” came to repair the building and it’s surroundings. The people of this organization act out of deep devotion of human values and willingness and hope to build relationships with Christians and… Read more »
David was one of the great seekers of God. I would like to say that he sought the Lord more than all others, but no one can judge a man’s heart, so we don’t know. However, of all writers of the Scriptures, he may have expressed a seeker’s heart better than all others. He was a passionate pursuer of God, and His words vividly illustrate that, painting pictures that help us understand a hunger for God that many believers may not even know is possible to experience.
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship Thee
You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You… Read more »

Spirit-filled Living
The world we live in is full of temptations, sin masquerading as normal, acceptable behavior and opportunities to compromise abound. So, God, in His wisdom, has given us the Holy Spirit to lead us and give us power to be His representatives in the midst of an evil age. Those, who are filled with the Spirit, will show fruit in their lives. Paul tells us in this passage some of the ways in which a spirit-filled person will act. It is practical advice to help us to… Read more »
What happens when you pray - "Father, use us where You want us" or "Lord have Your Will in our lives". No less than 18months ago my wife and I prayed that special prayer together. As a young married couple, we felt that God had brought us together for a mutual purpose and destiny. We desired to discover and follow His plan for us. And we prayed a simple prayer consisting of one line, not realizing how it would literally change our lives! Not only our lives, but also our worlds.
We prayed that special prayer in South Africa a few months ago, and today I am writing to you from Jerusalem, Israel. God had invited us on a special journey with Him and what a JOURNEY it has been so far. We… Read more »

Wisdom
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus… Read more »
My entire experience can be summed up in one word. It was life-changing and amazing, but the word I would use is 'small'.
I started packing my bags and realized that my shoes wouldn't fit.
So I had to pack a seperate bag for them and put it in the overhead compartment where I sit.
From the beginning of the plans, I knew things would be tight.
I mean, God took care of the finances...I just wasn't looking forward to the 12-hour flight.
For the majority of our time in the air I was standing on my feet.
Blocking the isles with the Flight Attendants telling me: "Sir, please take your seat."
When we landed in Israel, I can't explain how I was feeling.
But my… Read more »

Light
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.… Read more »
Why Israel? Well for me, I was more interested in Africa as I had been there before, but my husband, Simon has been interested in Israel. So when our youth pastor Kevin started talking about Israel, Simon and I both became interested and we had the money available. I had no idea what it would be like and honestly didn’t give it too much thought other than I just had to go.
Israel taught me many things, and for me revived my spirit. When I left for Israel I hadn’t been walking with God very well, I hardly read my bible or prayed. I wanted to get right with God, but I guess I didn’t really know where to start, so I didn’t try.
The trip through Israel was… Read more »
